This feature allows authors to share their documents, either with the world or with particular people, who can be invited strictly as viewers (able to read but not edit) or as co-authors. Google Docs ( ) solves these problems by hosting documents online.
There is also a problem of making sure each author is working with the latest version of the document it’s easy to get mixed up. However, this approach creates bottlenecks, or periods during which one of the authors is sitting around waiting for the other author to get done.
One approach to drafting the essay might have been for each of the writers to take turns, drafting a paragraph or two and then emailing the document back and forth.
